Nicaragua Retreat – February 2018

Yoga | Adventure | Wellness | Seva Retreat in Nicaragua

February 4th – 9th, 2018

At Apoyo Lodge on Nicaragua’s mystical volcanic Laguna de Apoyo

hosted by:  Meg Rima of Ignite Power Yoga Studio & Kristina Castañeda of Embody Renegade Wellness

Sometimes, a retreat is exactly what you need. This is a vacation, a yoga retreat, a culture experience, a growth opportunity, and a seva all wrapped into one. It is designed to provide you with a space in which you can travel, explore, experience new culture, play, rest, be amazed by nature, be of service to your planet, and renew your vitality.

What you are likely expecting, and will get:

VACATION – A fun getaway with sun, relaxation, and exploration.
RETREAT – Time to unplug from life as you know it, to focus on self-growth and self-care, nestled in the quiet seclusion of our own private, eco-friendly retreat center

What takes this retreat to the next level:

SEVA (1/2 day) – Sanskrit word meaning selfless service or work performed without any thought of reward or repayment, to both foster one’s spiritual growth while contributing to the improvement of a community.
CULTURE – You’ll experience tastes of local Nicaraguan flavor and lifestyle, feast your eyes upon the natural, exotic grandeur, while embarking on excursions with your new like-minded retreat tribe.

Nicaragua is a country with warm climate and generous people who live a vastly differently lifestyle than we do. It’s place of staggering beauty, home to some of the most gorgeous and lush biodiversity on the planet. It boasts rich rainforests, wildlife, dramatic flora, and active volcanoes. The retreat center itself is nestled on a large lake that was created some 23,000 years ago when a volcano imploded leaving a large crater to fill with sea water. What is there today is an exotic lagoon with warm mineral rich water known for healing and perfect for swims from the beach at our doorsteps from the peaceful retreat center. Apoyo Lodge itself, where you will be nestled, is known for its conscientiousness and gentle footprint, wanting to integrate as part of the land itself.

Laguna de Apoyo is the example of paradox and contradiction – wherein an imploded volcano created a lake, where you can swim to depths and hike to heights in the clouds on the surrounding volcanoes and terrain – the low and high, the water and fire, the implosion and explosion.

the traveller is not aware”
